Speed Darlington, the Nigerian singer known for his outspoken personality, has finally been arraigned by the Nigeria Police Force. According to his lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, the court granted his bail application, and steps are being taken to meet the bail requirements.

The singer has been in police detention since November 2024. His arrest came after he allegedly jumped bail in a previous case. The current legal issue began when Burna Boy, a fellow musician, filed a petition accusing Speed Darlington of defamation.

Burna Boy claimed that Speed Darlington defamed him in a video released in December 2023. In the video, Speed accused Burna Boy of winning a Grammy Award through unethical means, specifically by “bending” for American music mogul Diddy.

As the case unfolds, Speed Darlington’s lawyers are focused on securing his release from detention while the investigation continues.
