The death of Nigerian musician Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, shocked many. He passed away on September 11, 2023, at just 26 years old. However, his father, Joseph Aloba, has shared how his life took a surprising turn for the better after this tragic event.

“Let me just say yes, my life got better after Mohbad’s death because he is my friend. He had it in plan to do many things for me but they didn’t allow him to do them. After his death, it was the spirit of Mohbad, and that of God combined together that began to send people to assist me,” he said.

In a recent interview, Joseph Aloba explained that his life improved thanks to the kindness of strangers. He received a car, a truck, and other gifts from compassionate Nigerians who sympathized with his loss. He described this as divine intervention that brought blessings despite the pain.

“Even the car and everything I have now, it was people that gave them to me and it is beyond ordinary. So it is the spirit of Mohbad and God that led those people to give me all I have now,” he added.

Aloba also reflected on Mohbad’s struggles before his death, mentioning how his son’s plans were often disrupted. He claimed that much of Mohbad’s property is now controlled by his wife, Wunmi, and her family.

“They did a lot concerning that boy (Mohbad). All his landed property is in their possession. Even the land he bought for me to build a church, I forced him to buy and mould the blocks on it, which was later used to bury him,” he said.

Interestingly, Aloba shared that Mohbad had already paid for a house he planned to give him after completing his tour. He also revealed that Mohbad’s birth marked a turning point in his life. Money stolen during Mohbad’s naming ceremony inspired him to start singing, with Mohbad serving as his backup singer from the age of one.

Though the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s death remain controversial, his father’s story shows how acts of kindness and support can bring hope even in difficult times.
