3 men arrested over murder of Facebook lover in Lagos

Detectives in Lagos State have arrested three men linked to the murder of a woman they lured through Facebook. The incident occurred in the Surulere area and highlights the dangers of trusting strangers online.

According to the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Olanrewaju Ishola, the suspects used social media platforms like Facebook and Tinder to target their victims. They pretended to be friends, gained trust, and invited the victims to meet them in person.

In this case, the victim was tricked into visiting a location where the suspects extorted ₦300,000 and took the victim’s phone. Sadly, the situation escalated, leading to the victim’s death.

The police acted quickly after the case was reported to the Tactical Team of Area C. The three suspects were arrested and are now in custody while investigations continue.

This tragic story is a reminder to always be cautious when interacting with strangers online. It’s essential to prioritize safety when meeting people in person after online interactions.
