American Lab Denies Conducting Toxicology Test On Mohbad

In the aftermath of Nigerian artist Mohbad’s death, there has been confusion regarding where his toxicology test was conducted and what the results revealed. Initially, Lagos State officials claimed the test was carried out at the National Medical Services Laboratories (NMS Labs) in Pennsylvania, United States. However, NMS Labs denied conducting any such test, contradicting the statements made by the officials.

The confusion intensified when it was revealed that the autopsy conducted on Mohbad’s body couldn’t determine the cause of death due to its decomposed state. Despite earlier assertions by Lagos State officials that the toxicology test was performed in the US as part of the autopsy process, NMS Labs refuted these claims.

Punch Newspaper initiated a fact-finding mission to uncover the truth, verifying the locations of NMS Labs and contacting them directly for clarification. The response from NMS Labs’ Client Services Associate denied any involvement in Mohbad’s case, stating they had no record of it.

In response to the contradiction, Lagos State’s Commissioner for Information, Gbenga Omotoso, stated that he was informed by the state DNA and Forensic Centre that the test was conducted at NMS Labs. However, he acknowledged the need to reconfirm this information.

The discrepancy between the state’s claims and NMS Labs’ denial raises questions about the transparency and accuracy of information surrounding Mohbad’s death. With conflicting reports and lack of clarity, further investigation is required to determine the truth behind the toxicology test and its findings.
