Felix Morka, the National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has claimed that he has received over 200 death threats. He linked these threats to remarks he made about Peter Obi, the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate in the 2023 elections.

Morka made this statement during an interview on Arise Television, revealing that he has documented 400 threats, half of which explicitly threaten his life.

He explained that these threats started after Peter Obi accused him of making comments that endangered Obi’s safety. According to Morka, Obi’s allegations triggered a wave of disturbing messages, some detailing gruesome plans to harm him.

“Peter Obi’s claims that my remarks posed a threat to his life have serious consequences,” Morka said. “I now have 400 threats on record, with 200 being direct death threats, including threats to shoot, behead, and harm me in other ways. I will be submitting these to law enforcement agencies.”

Morka clarified that his controversial statement, “Obi has crossed the line so many times, and whatever comes to him, he should manage it,” was taken out of context. He said it was a direct response to a question about Obi being labeled a “voodoo economist and prophet of doom.”

Peter Obi, on the other hand, claimed that Morka’s comments had also led to threats against him and those close to him.
