A wildfire broke out in Los Angeles, forcing thousands of residents to evacuate, including some famous faces. On January 7, 2025, the fire started in Pacific Palisades, then spread quickly to Altadena. California Governor Gavin Newsom declared a state of emergency after visiting the area and meeting with firefighters.
Newsom warned that the situation was far from under control, as many homes were destroyed by the fire. Among those who had to leave their homes was actor James Woods, whose neighbor’s house was also lost.
As the fire spread, some residents fled on foot, leaving their cars behind in the streets, which blocked the roads for emergency vehicles. One resident, Kelsey Trainor, described how people were running for their lives, carrying dogs, babies, and bags, while others were crying and screaming in fear.
Will Adams shared that his wife’s car was damaged by flying embers while she tried to escape. She had to leave the car running and walk to safety along with others.
To help clear the roads, actor Steve Guttenberg, known for his role in “Police Academy,” stepped in to drive abandoned cars out of the way, allowing fire trucks to pass.
As the fire spread rapidly, evacuation orders were extended to parts of nearby Santa Monica. The Los Angeles Fire Department continued to battle the flames, which had burned through 200 acres in just one hour. Authorities urged all residents in the affected areas to evacuate immediately.
The fire is still burning, and officials are continuing to work hard to contain it. Residents are advised to stay safe and follow evacuation orders to avoid the danger.
