Ogun Gov Appoints Former Commissioner As Chief Of Staff

Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has named Oluwatoyin Taiwo as his new Chief of Staff. Taiwo, who previously served as the Deputy Chief of Staff, officially received his appointment letter on Wednesday.

The statement added, “The appointment, according to the letter, took effect from 18th December 2024.

“The governor, while congratulating the new Chief of Staff, described the appointment as well-deserved”.

The announcement was made in a statement released by Kayode Akinmade, the governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Strategy, on Thursday. According to Akinmade, Taiwo’s appointment is a recognition of his dedication and service to the state government.

Oluwatoyin Taiwo has been a trusted ally in Governor Abiodun’s administration. During the governor’s first term, he held the position of Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, contributing significantly to the state’s cultural and tourism development. He was later promoted to Deputy Chief of Staff, and now, he has taken on the role of Chief of Staff.

Taiwo is a distinguished alumnus of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, where he earned a B.Sc. in Statistics. He also holds advanced degrees, including a Ph.D., showcasing his strong academic and professional background.

As Chief of Staff, Taiwo is expected to bring his experience and expertise to help the governor achieve the administration’s goals and deliver more impactful projects for the people of Ogun State.
