Defamation case: If dem no release Dele on bail Tomorrow, we are going to go Ballistic with the information we have on Afe Babalola- Charley Boy warns

Veteran entertainer and activist Charles Oputa, known as Charly Boy, has spoken out about the ongoing detention of Dele Farotimi, an activist accused of defamation. Farotimi, who was arrested for his book titled Nigeria and its Criminal Justice System, remains in custody after being charged with 16 counts.

In his book, Farotimi accused senior lawyer Afe Babalola of influencing Supreme Court judgments and corrupting Nigeria’s judiciary. Despite pleading not guilty during his December 4 arraignment, Farotimi has been held in prison since then.

Upset by the activist’s continued detention, Charly Boy issued a warning. He declared that if Farotimi is not granted bail by December 20, sensitive information about Afe Babalola will be made public. This ultimatum has drawn attention to the case, with many questioning the justice system and the balance between freedom of speech and legal repercussions.

Charly Boy’s message highlights the frustration of activists facing legal challenges for expressing their views. The situation raises concerns about judicial fairness, freedom of expression, and the role of powerful figures in Nigeria’s legal system.

As this case unfolds, it sheds light on the ongoing battle for justice and accountability in the country.

‘’WARNING:

If dem no release Dele on bail Tomorrow, we are going to go Ballistic with the information we have on Are Babalola.

We won’t be playing dis time. Enough of dis Nonsense.

Dia Father’s.”
