Chief Olabode Ibiyinka George, a former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has addressed the claims that the party is dying. He assured that the PDP is far from dead, but emphasized the need for a comprehensive approach to resolve the ongoing crisis within the party.
George pointed out that there are two main issues causing division within the PDP. The first is the dispute over the tenure of the party’s Acting National Chairman, Ambassador Umar Damagum. The second is the intense competition for the PDP’s presidential ticket for the 2027 elections.
According to George, these issues must be addressed for the party to move forward and remain relevant in Nigerian politics.
