Boko Haram Terrorists Kill 14 Nigerian Fishermen

In a tragic incident, 14 Nigerian fishermen lost their lives in an attack by Boko Haram terrorists near the Niger-Nigeria border. The attack happened on Sunday near the town of Bosso, a dangerous area known for terrorist activities.

The victims were originally from the Nigerian towns of Malam Fatori and Doron Baga. They had fled their homes due to persistent violence in Nigeria’s northeast and sought refuge in Niger’s Diffa region. Unfortunately, while fishing to sustain themselves, they were ambushed and killed.

Babakura Kolo, a vigilante leader working with the Nigerian military, confirmed the details of the attack. He stated, “All 14 fishermen had their throats slit by the Boko Haram terrorists who operate in the Bosso area close to the border.”

The Diffa region, located along the borders of Nigeria and Chad, has been repeatedly targeted by Boko Haram and its splinter group, the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP). Both groups are responsible for numerous violent raids, creating a sense of fear and insecurity in the region.

This attack is a grim reminder of the dangers faced by displaced people trying to rebuild their lives. Despite international efforts to address the crisis, armed groups like Boko Haram continue to threaten the safety of vulnerable communities.

The loss of these fishermen highlights the ongoing struggle against terrorism in the Lake Chad Basin and the urgent need for stronger measures to protect displaced persons and civilians in the region.
