Deji Adeyanju, a well-known lawyer and human rights activist, has issued a public apology to two leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)—Umar Damagun, the Acting National Chairman, and Senator Samuel Anyanwu, the Acting National Secretary.
This comes after the PDP leaders, through their lawyer Johnson Usman, SAN, warned Adeyanju of impending legal action if he didn’t retract his claims and apologize. The duo demanded that the apology be made publicly in newspapers and on social media.
On Friday, Adeyanju, through his lawyer Zainab Otega, released a formal retraction and apology. This move avoided what could have been a lengthy legal battle and emphasized the importance of resolving disputes amicably.
This case serves as a reminder of the need for responsible communication, especially in matters involving public figures.
