Bobrisky, the well-known Nigerian crossdresser, has opened up about the beginning of his problems with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). In a recent statement, he explained that his trouble started after he won the “Best Dressed Female” award at the movie premiere of Nollywood actress Eniola Ajao.
The situation escalated when Bobrisky was arrested by the EFCC at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos as he tried to board a flight to Amsterdam. After his arrest, Bobrisky was taken to the EFCC headquarters in Abuja, where he was questioned about allegations that he had bribed EFCC officers to have previous money laundering charges against him dropped.
Bobrisky’s arrest quickly made waves online when he alerted followers, sharing that he had sustained injuries in the process, saying, “Nigerians, help me, EFCC just arrested me. I’m badly injured.”
These developments came after viral audio accused Bobrisky of bribing Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) officers to receive special treatment while serving time for a naira abuse case. The rumors suggested that Bobrisky paid for better prison conditions.
In his defense, Bobrisky made it clear on his Instagram that he would never get involved in any award or treatment meant for women, and he denied the allegations of bribery. He emphasized that he is not involved in any illegal activities and that the situation is a misunderstanding.
He wrote, “My problem started from when I collected best dressed female with N1 million price. For my life if I see award for best dressed female I go disappear from that location. Everyone know the truth that I am a baddie with class, you wanna compete with me? your mummy never, but when problem wan too much, I run”
