Five Suspected Kidnappers, Spiritualist, and Others Arrested by Police in Kaduna

The Kaduna State Police have arrested five individuals, including suspected kidnappers, a well-known car thief, and a spiritualist. They also recovered stolen items, such as a Toyota Hilux and bags of maize.

According to the police spokesperson, ASP Mansir Hassan, the operation led to the arrest of three suspected kidnappers—Umar Haruna, Shuaibu Umar, and Hairatu Muntari (also called Talatu)—in Kundun Village. The primary target was Haruna, believed to be the leader of the kidnapping gang, though he remains on the run.

Further investigations revealed that the money from previous kidnappings was used to purchase bags of maize, which were found as evidence during the operation.

In a separate case, a man from Agaji village reported that his 3-year-old daughter went missing on October 31. The next day, he received a call demanding a ransom of N2 million for her release. After paying the ransom, the child was returned safely. Police started investigating on November 3, and by November 8, they arrested Isa Sa’adu, a suspect from Agaji village. During questioning, Sa’adu confessed to the kidnapping. The police recovered N400,000, a motorcycle, a bicycle, and a bag of rice from him.

The police continue their efforts to investigate the crimes and bring the suspects to justice.
