Boko Haram Kills Three and Abducts Fishermen in Borno

On the night of November 10, 2024, suspected Boko Haram insurgents launched a deadly attack in Kukawa Local Government Area, Borno State, killing three people and kidnapping more than a dozen fishermen. The attack took place in the village of Malamyawri, located near Lake Chad.

According to reports, the attackers arrived around 11:45 pm, rounded up the villagers, and executed two fishermen. In addition to the killings, 13 fishermen were taken away, and another body was discovered later in the bush. Local authorities confirmed the presence of a large number of insurgents in the area, raising concerns about the safety of the local population.

This attack follows recent operations by Chadian troops, who have been pursuing Boko Haram fighters in the region. It is believed that the insurgents are taking refuge in remote parts of Kukawa, which has increased tensions and fears among residents.

Local government officials are urging for quick military intervention to protect the people and stop the insurgents who are moving around with weapons but without vehicles. As the situation remains tense, residents are hoping for more security measures to prevent further violence and kidnapping.
