In a significant step to improve student welfare, Governor Umaru Bago of Niger State recently donated ₦100 million to the Federal University of Technology (FUT), Minna. This funding, handed over to the university’s Governing Council, will support the construction of new hostels, providing much-needed accommodation for students.
The donation was formally presented at the Government House in Minna, where Dr. Muhammad Kudu Santuraki, Chairman and Pro-Chancellor of FUT Minna, accepted the cheque on behalf of the university. He thanked Governor Bago for his commitment to education and assured that the funds would be wisely utilized to enhance the university’s facilities.
Governor Bago reiterated his dedication to supporting educational institutions in Niger State, emphasizing the importance of partnerships that benefit the community. This donation, which he initially announced earlier in November, reflects his goal to address students’ housing needs and improve their living conditions.
The contribution is expected to positively impact students at FUT Minna, helping the university expand its housing capacity and enhance the overall campus experience.
