In a shocking incident in Ondo State, a 20-year-old man named Friday Akinmade has been arrested for the murder of a 65-year-old woman. The event took place in Owo, where Akinmade accused the woman of stealing N3,000 from him.
Reports indicate that in a fit of anger, Akinmade attacked the elderly woman with a wooden plank, hitting her twice on the head. During an interview with journalists at the Amotekun headquarters, Akinmade confessed to the crime, stating that he didn’t expect her to die from the blows. He claimed that after confronting her about the alleged theft, she ran away from the scene.
The Commander of the Ondo State Security Network Agency, known as Amotekun, Akogun Adetunji Adeleye, confirmed the arrest and expressed concern over the rising violence in the community. He noted that Akinmade was among 27 individuals arrested for various crimes, including kidnapping and burglary.
