In a tragic incident in Gombe State, Jonathan James has been arrested for the stabbing death of his 65-year-old aunt, Ramatu Musa. The attack occurred in the Badagaza Quarters area, where he allegedly used a knife to take her life. The police spokesperson, ASP Buhari Abdullahi, confirmed the details in a statement on October 25, 2024. This shocking event has raised concerns in the local community about violence and safety.

The police are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding this crime, and the community is left in disbelief over the shocking act committed by a family member.

“On 21/10/2024 at about 0215hrs distress call has it that on the same date at about 0135hrs the above mentioned suspect had fatally stabbed his Aunty one Ramatu Musa ‘F’ 65yrs old of the same address with a sharp knife as a result she sustained serious injury on her chest,” the statement read.

“On receiving the information, patrol team from Pantami division led by ASP Girema Yahaya rushed to the scene and evacuated the victim to specialist hospital Gombe for medical attention where she was examine and certified dead on arrival by a medical doctor.  

“The scene of crime was visited and the suspect arrested. A knife was recovered as exhibit, the suspect will soon be charged to court for prosecution.”
