Victor Boniface, the Super Eagles striker, missed Bayer Leverkusen’s training session on Monday, October 21, due to a car accident that occurred over the weekend.
The incident took place after Boniface had an outstanding performance in the Bundesliga match against Frankfurt on Saturday, where he scored the winning goal. Following the game, he was heading to the airport to pick up friends when the accident happened.
Fortunately, Bayer Leverkusen confirmed that Boniface only sustained minor injuries to his left hand. Despite this good news, it is still uncertain if he will be fit to play in the upcoming Champions League match against Brest later this week.
According to reports from BILD, there is a possibility that Boniface might take a short break to recover fully from the accident. This could mean that his return to action may be delayed until next weekend. Fans are hopeful for his quick recovery and return to the field.
