In an unexpected announcement, Reno Omokri, the former spokesperson for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), declared that he will be voting for President Bola Tinubu in the upcoming 2027 elections. This marks a significant shift, as Omokri was a strong supporter of Atiku Abubakar during the previous election.

On his social media platform X, Omokri shared his thoughts on this decision. He stated that if the 2027 election features three candidates—Waziri Atiku Abubakar, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and Peter Gregory Obi—he would choose to vote for Tinubu. He expressed his commitment, saying, “I will vote for and work hard for the victory of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, so help me, God!”

Omokri provided reasons for his choice, emphasizing that in terms of loyalty, economic management, resolving disputes, and showing forgiveness, Tinubu stands out as a better politician compared to the other candidates on the list. This endorsement from a former PDP member highlights the shifting dynamics within Nigerian politics as the country approaches the next election cycle.
