Fresh Attack in Bokkos: Gunmen Kill 5 in Plateau State

In a tragic turn of events, gunmen have once again attacked rural communities in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State, killing five people. This fresh assault took place in the village of Rafut in the Kwatas district on the evening of October 14th.

According to the Bokkos Cultural Development Council, led by Chairman Farmasum Fuddang and Secretary Duwam Bosco, the attackers are believed to be Fulani gunmen. The attack followed shortly after a security meeting between local leaders, the police, and military officials that was held just the day before, on October 13th.

The attackers ambushed and killed four young men who were guarding their family home, before storming the compound and murdering an elderly man. The total number of lives lost in this single attack was five.

This latest incident is part of a series of violent attacks in the region over the past week. Communities in Wumat, Kuba, and Maikatako have also been hit, with over 10 people killed in separate assaults between October 7th and 12th.

Despite warnings and efforts to address the rising insecurity, the situation remains tense, leaving local residents deeply shaken. The repeated violence has highlighted the urgent need for stronger security measures in Bokkos and across Plateau State.
