Niger State Official Claims Returning to Donkeys and Horses is the Only Solution to Rising Fuel Prices

Recently, a government official from Niger State proposed a unique solution to the rising fuel prices in Nigeria. Habibu Abubakar Wushishi, the Director of Media and Strategy at the Niger State Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, believes that the country should consider using older forms of transportation. He suggests that Nigerians return to using donkeys, horses, and bicycles instead of relying on fuel-powered vehicles.

Wushishi argues that this approach could help ease the burden of high fuel costs. He emphasizes the importance of adapting to current challenges by embracing traditional methods that are more affordable. While this idea may seem unconventional, it raises questions about how communities can rethink transportation in response to economic pressures.

As fuel prices continue to climb, discussions around sustainable and cost-effective transportation solutions are becoming increasingly relevant. The suggestion to revert to using animals for transport may inspire more conversations about how Nigerians can navigate these financial challenges creatively.
