In a disturbing event on Friday, armed terrorists attacked several mosques in the Dan-Ali community, located in Katsina State’s Danmusa Local Government Area. The attack took place during Jummat prayers, causing worshippers to flee for safety as gunfire rang out.
“We were at the Jummat prayer when we heard the shooting and everybody ran. We couldn’t hold our prayers again.
“Thanks to the Security Watch Corps in the area that gave them a hot chase,” a local source, who requested anonymity, confirmed to PUNCH.
For more than a week, these bandits have terrorized the Dan-Ali community and nearby areas, including Gwarjo, Dangane, Tudun, Tasha Kadanya, and Tasha Biri. Their activities have been particularly harmful to local farmers, who have been unable to tend to their land due to fear of violence.
“Many farmers have been kidnapped, and we are all scared to enter our farms,” the source added.
Efforts to contact ASP Abubakar Sadiq, the Police Public Relations Officer, for comments on the incident have been unsuccessful so far. The ongoing attacks have left residents in a state of panic, and they are pleading for government action to bring an end to the insecurity in the region.
