The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is conducting by-elections today across Gombe, Kano, Bauchi and Delta states, with five legislative seats up for grabs.

Voting is scheduled to take place between 8:30am and 2:30pm across the affected constituencies, including Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye, Dawakin Kudu, Disina, Sakwa and Udu.

The polls come as political activities intensify ahead of the 2027 general elections, putting INEC’s election logistics, voter turnout and result-management processes under scrutiny.

The outcome of the by-elections is expected to determine the new representatives for the affected constituencies while providing another test of the commission’s preparedness for future elections.
