BREAKING: Nigeria’s GDP Grows 4.43% in Q2 2026, Outpacing 2025 Performance
Nigeria’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) grew by 4.43 per cent year-on-year in real terms in the second quarter of 2026, surpassing the 4.23 per cent recorded in the corresponding period of 2025.
The latest figure, released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), represents a 0.20 percentage-point increase compared with the second quarter of last year, signalling a modest strengthening in economic activity.
According to the NBS, the agricultural sector recorded stronger growth during the quarter, while the services sector also continued to expand.
However, growth in the industrial sector slowed significantly compared with the corresponding period in 2025.
