Dickson Chollom, a member of the Plateau State House of Assembly representing Barkin Ladi Constituency, has said the term “unknown gunmen” should no longer be used for recent attacks, insisting that those responsible are now identified.
He made this statement during a visit to Heipang District in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area after an attack that killed three people and left another seriously injured.
According to him, one suspect has already been arrested and has confessed, revealing the identities of others involved in the attack.
Chollom stated clearly that the attackers are no longer unknown, as the arrested suspect has provided useful information about his partners in the crime.
He stressed that the issue should not be treated as a normal case, adding that the people of Barkin Ladi and Plateau State deserve openness and justice.
The lawmaker also urged security agencies to release details of their investigation, including the names of those involved and where they are being held, so the public can be sure that justice is being carried out.
