Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta has promoted three young Nigerian-eligible players to train with the senior team on Monday.
The move comes ahead of Arsenal’s Champions League quarter-final first-leg match against Sporting CP in Lisbon on Tuesday.
According to Arsenal youth insider Jeorge Bird, forward Andre Harriman-Annous, defender Josh Ogunnaike, and goalkeeper Khari Ranson were called up from the academy to train with the first team at Sobha Realty Training Centre in London Colney.
Harriman-Annous and Ranson have already been included in a Champions League matchday squad this season, while Ogunnaike has not yet been called up to the senior team.
Harriman-Annous made his Champions League debut as a substitute in a 3-0 win over Slavia Prague last November, and Ranson was an unused substitute in both legs of the Round of 16 against Bayer Leverkusen last month.
It remains unclear whether Arteta will include Harriman-Annous, Ranson, and Ogunnaike in the squad for Arsenal’s clash with Sporting CP tonight.
