Former presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party, Adewole Adebayo, has criticised Bola Ahmed Tinubu, accusing him of not taking strong action against insecurity in the country.
Adebayo made this statement during a visit to Anguwan Rukuba in Plateau State, where at least 29 people were killed during an attack on Palm Sunday, leaving many others injured.
He said the repeated killings and destruction happening across Nigeria show that the country is facing a serious leadership problem.
According to him, the government has the power to protect citizens if it truly wants to do so.
He added that the attackers are not more powerful than the government and can be tracked and punished if there is real commitment. He accused the president of only talking about insecurity without taking enough action.
Adebayo also expressed sympathy to the people of Anguwan Rukuba over the tragic incident and assured them of his support.
He advised residents to stay alert while calling on the government to take stronger steps to improve security and prevent future attacks.
