A United States military aircraft has reportedly been brought down over Iranian territory, marking a major development in the ongoing conflict. Both American officials and Iranian media confirmed the incident, making it the first known loss of a US jet since tensions escalated.
Reports suggest the aircraft involved is an F-15E Strike Eagle, which crashed in Iran’s Khuzestan Province. The location is said to be several hundred kilometres from Tehran, with visuals emerging online showing activity around the crash area.
Following the incident, US forces reportedly launched a search-and-rescue mission to locate the crew. The aircraft is believed to have had two pilots onboard, but their condition or whereabouts remain unknown.
Iranian media outlets claimed their air defence systems successfully intercepted the jet. Officials linked the operation to advanced defence technology operated by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
Meanwhile, Iranian sources stated that efforts to find any ejected crew members had not been successful. Some reports also suggested incentives were offered for information about the pilots, raising concerns about their safety.
As of now, US authorities, including the Pentagon and White House, have not issued an official statement. Analysts say such silence is common during ongoing rescue operations in active conflict zones.
