The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has said he faces heavy criticism, claiming he is the most abused politician after Bola Tinubu. He made the statement during a chat with journalists.
Wike explained that despite the criticism, his focus remains on carrying out his duties as FCT Minister. He stressed the importance of staying committed to the job given to him.
He noted that many Nigerians expect services like roads and electricity but are often unwilling to pay taxes. According to him, this makes governance and service delivery more difficult.
The minister also highlighted funding challenges faced by the FCT Administration. He explained that they receive only a small percentage of federal revenue to run their operations.
Wike pointed out that the limited allocation is not enough to cover basic expenses like salaries and development projects. He said this makes it hard to meet public expectations.
He concluded that despite the challenges and criticisms, he remains focused on delivering results. His remarks reflect the difficulties of governance and public service in Nigeria.
