Bandits abduct seven family members in Kaduna

Suspected bandits have abducted several people, including a family of seven, in Kaduna State. The attack occurred along the Katari–Hayin Dam road in the Kachia area.

According to eyewitness accounts, the incident happened around 9:32 pm when armed men stormed a residential compound in Unguwar Sabon-Titi. The attackers reportedly surrounded the area before taking their victims away.

A local resident, Mr. Markus Yakubu, confirmed that seven members of one family and three other neighbours were kidnapped during the raid. The assailants were said to be heavily armed during the operation.

Reports suggest the bandits initially operated without gunfire but began shooting after moving the victims away from the town. Some believe their silence was due to the proximity of a police officer’s residence nearby.

The kidnapped victims include members of the Amos family and neighbouring residents, while security operatives have launched a search operation in nearby forests. The goal is to rescue the victims and track down the attackers.

Authorities in Kaduna State are yet to issue an official statement on the incident. Residents continue to call for stronger security presence to prevent further attacks in the area.
