The Nigerian Navy has handed over three Ghanaian stowaways to the Nigeria Immigration Service after they were discovered aboard a vessel.
According to officials, the individuals were found hiding on a ship and were taken into custody during a routine maritime operation. Their presence raised concerns about illegal movement across borders.
The Navy stated that the suspects were handled professionally and in line with maritime security procedures before being transferred to immigration authorities for further investigation.
The incident highlights ongoing efforts by security agencies to curb illegal migration and protect Nigeria’s territorial waters from unlawful activities.
The Nigeria Immigration Service is expected to carry out proper screening and determine the next steps regarding the stowaways in line with international laws.
Authorities have urged increased cooperation between maritime agencies to prevent similar incidents and strengthen border security.
