The government of Israel has reversed its earlier restriction on Christian worship at a major holy site in Jerusalem.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered that church leaders be allowed to conduct Palm Sunday services after facing strong criticism worldwide.
The decision means that Pierbattista Pizzaballa can now access the Church of the Holy Sepulchre to lead worship.
Earlier, authorities had blocked access citing security concerns due to rising tensions and nearby missile incidents.
The restriction sparked reactions from global leaders and religious bodies, who described it as a threat to religious freedom during a sacred period.
Although access has now been restored, officials say some security measures will remain in place at other religious locations.
