War: British PM speaks as Israel announces Iran has missiles that could reach UK

The Prime Minister of Keir Starmer has stated that there is currently no evidence suggesting that the United Kingdom is being directly targeted by Iranian missiles. His comments come amid rising tensions involving Iran and Israel.

This follows claims by the Israel Defense Forces that Iran possesses missiles capable of reaching major European cities like London, Paris, and Berlin. The warning has raised global concerns about the expanding reach of the ongoing conflict.

Despite these claims, Starmer reassured the public that regular security assessments show no immediate threat to the UK. He emphasized that protecting British citizens remains a top priority while avoiding unnecessary panic.

The situation intensified after an attempted strike near the Diego Garcia base, a joint UK-US military facility. The base is strategically important and located within possible missile range, adding to concerns about regional security.

Starmer stressed the importance of reducing tensions, calling for calm and coordinated international efforts. He pointed to the need for diplomacy, especially regarding the sensitive Strait of Hormuz, which plays a key role in global energy supply.

As the conflict continues to evolve, the UK government has made it clear it will act to protect its interests but will avoid direct involvement in the war. The focus remains on safety, stability, and preventing further escalation.
