Peller Palava: Queen Ewuare Hits Back At Edo Palace Chiefs

A fresh controversy has emerged in the Benin Kingdom following the visit of influencer Habeeb Adelaja, popularly known as Peller, to the royal palace. The situation escalated after Queen Ewuare challenged claims that the visit was not approved.

The Benin Traditional Council had earlier suspended the queen and others, accusing them of breaching palace traditions. The council described the visit as a violation of sacred customs and demanded an apology from Peller.

In response, Queen Ewuare released what she described as evidence showing that the visit had been formally communicated beforehand. She argued that the council’s claims were misleading and not the full truth.

The document she shared reportedly showed that a letter notifying the palace of the visit was received weeks before the event. However, critics insist that acknowledging a letter does not mean official approval was granted.

Meanwhile, Peller’s team defended the visit, stating that proper steps were followed. They explained that although the Oba was unavailable, palace officials received them and guided the visit without any intention to disrespect tradition.

Despite the explanations, the council maintained its position, stressing that the palace is a sacred place with strict rules. The incident has sparked mixed reactions online, with many debating respect for tradition versus modern public engagement.
