President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reacted to the recent attacks in Maiduguri, describing the situation as deeply painful. He expressed sympathy for victims and their families while standing in support of residents affected by the violence in Maiduguri.
The president noted that the attacks were carried out by desperate terrorist groups trying to spread fear. According to him, these actions show that the criminals are under pressure from ongoing military operations across the country.
Tinubu praised the efforts of Nigeria’s armed forces, highlighting their bravery in repelling the coordinated attacks. He also commended local security volunteers who continue to support efforts to maintain peace in the region.
To strengthen security, the president revealed that he recently approved additional equipment and operational support. He added that security chiefs have been directed to move to the area and take full control of the situation.
Emergency response teams have also been instructed to provide proper care for those injured during the attacks. The government, he said, remains committed to ensuring the safety and recovery of affected communities.
Reassuring Nigerians, Tinubu stressed that terrorists will not find refuge anywhere in the country. He vowed that security forces will track and eliminate all threats, insisting that Nigeria will not give in to fear or intimidation.
