The Labour Party in Benue State has appointed a new state chairman alongside interim executive members, aiming to strengthen the party’s structure ahead of upcoming elections.
The announcement was made during a meeting of party stakeholders in Makurdi, where members approved the leadership team to coordinate activities and drive grassroots engagement.
The new chairman is expected to lead the party in mobilising support, resolving internal disputes, and preparing for both local and national electoral contests.
Interim executives were also named to oversee key departments, including administration, finance, publicity, and youth engagement, ensuring smooth operations during the transition period.
Party officials emphasised that the appointments are part of efforts to promote internal democracy, transparency, and effective leadership in Benue State.
Members and supporters have welcomed the development, expressing optimism that the renewed leadership will strengthen the Labour Party’s presence and competitiveness in the state.
