Babagana Umara Zulum has issued a strong warning to individuals aiding insurgents, vowing that informants and collaborators will be tracked and brought to justice. He made this known during a statewide broadcast.
The governor blamed the recent increase in attacks on those providing intelligence, shelter, and logistics to terrorists. He stressed that such individuals are not patriots but enemies of the state.
Zulum declared that the government will no longer tolerate any form of support for insurgent groups. He warned that anyone found assisting them would face the full weight of the law.
Despite the renewed attacks, the governor assured residents that security agencies are working tirelessly to maintain control. He noted that the overall security situation remains under watch, with efforts ongoing to protect lives and property.
He also acknowledged the sacrifices of security personnel and volunteers who have lost their lives in the fight against insurgency. Zulum expressed sympathy to affected families and praised the resilience of citizens.
The governor emphasized that while progress has been made over the years, more work is needed to fully end the insurgency. He called for unity, vigilance, and continued cooperation from the public.
