Residents in the Ojo area of Lagos have taken to the streets to oppose a proposed demolition linked to a rail project.
The protesters accused Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority of planning to remove over 300 homes, a move they say could leave thousands homeless.
Carrying placards, the community called on Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to step in and stop the exercise.
Leaders of the protest argued that the demolition is unfair and violates due process, especially as a court order reportedly halted the action.
They also claimed officials continued activities in the area despite the legal directive, raising concerns about respect for the rule of law.
Residents are now urging the government to review the project plan and protect their homes, warning of serious humanitarian consequences if the demolition proceeds.
