Catholic Bishops felicitate Muslims on Eid el-Fitr, advocate national unity

The Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Nigeria has extended warm Eid-el-Fitr greetings to Muslims across Nigeria, urging peace, national healing, and unity.

CBCN President and Archbishop of Kaduna, Most Rev. Matthew Ndagoso, commended the Muslim faithful for their discipline during Ramadan, highlighting fasting, prayer, and charity as powerful acts of faith.

He noted that this year, Christians and Muslims began their fasting seasons on the same day, a convergence that reflects shared values of sacrifice, devotion, and reliance on God.

The archbishop encouraged Nigerians to go beyond mere coexistence, promoting brotherhood and collective effort to address national challenges and strengthen social cohesion.

Ndagoso prayed for the fruits of Ramadan to deepen compassion, foster understanding between communities, and guide leaders in righteous governance for the common good.

He concluded by asking God to bless Nigeria with unity, protect all citizens, and grant abundant blessings to families across the country during this festive period.
