Kano APC gives NNPP 72 hours to retract allegations of influencing judiciary

The Kano State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has given the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) and its spokesperson, Ibrahim Karaye, 72 hours to retract claims that the state government is influencing court proceedings.

APC described the allegations as “false, malicious, and legally indefensible,” stressing that the Kano government under Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf has never interfered with judicial processes.

The NNPP had accused the Kano government of paying large sums to influence proceedings at the Federal Capital Territory High Court in Abuja, a claim APC strongly denies.

Auwalu Soja Gwale, APC spokesperson in Kano, called the allegations part of a pattern of reckless rhetoric by elements of the NNPP, especially when political outcomes are not in their favor.

APC urged the Kwankwasiyya faction of the NNPP to focus on resolving internal leadership disputes involving Boniface Aniebonam and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, rather than making baseless claims against the judiciary.

The party reaffirmed its commitment to the rule of law and warned that failure to retract the statements within the ultimatum would lead to legal action for defamation.
