Very few Nigerian musicians are kind – Peller

Popular TikToker and streamer Peller has expressed disappointment over the attitude of Nigerian musicians toward local influencers and media. Speaking during a livestream in Enugu, he claimed that most artists prefer collaborating with foreign media over Nigerians, only turning to local personalities when their fame declines.

Peller noted, “Nigerian musicians don’t rate local streamers. They stream with Americans, but when their relevance drops, then they seek Nigerian streamers.” He emphasised that this trend is widespread and discouraging for local content creators.

Highlighting exceptions, Peller mentioned Davido, Olamide, and Tiwa Savage as some of the few Nigerian artists who have shown kindness and respect to local influencers. He praised them for engaging meaningfully with domestic media despite their international fame.

The streamer urged Nigerian musicians to support and collaborate with local talent, arguing that embracing homegrown influencers would strengthen the entertainment ecosystem. He believes local media should not be overlooked in favor of global platforms alone.

Peller’s comments sparked debate among fans and viewers, with many agreeing that homegrown influencers deserve recognition and collaboration opportunities from Nigerian stars. The discussion also highlighted the need for stronger support networks within the Nigerian music industry.

He concluded by calling for a cultural shift among entertainers, encouraging artists to be more considerate of local collaborators and appreciative of the role Nigerian media plays in building their careers.
