Israel’s Defence Minister, Israel Katz, said on Wednesday that Iran’s Intelligence Minister, Esmail Khatib, was “eliminated” in an overnight strike.

Iranian authorities have not confirmed the reported death.

Katz added that he and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu have authorized the military to proceed with targeting other senior Iranian officials without requiring additional approval.
