Dangote Refinery-backed MRS filling stations have raised their petrol pump price nationwide, following a gantry price increase by the refinery. In Abuja, the new retail price is N1,267 per liter, up from N1,167, representing a N100 increase.
An MRS manager confirmed the hike, attributing it to the recent rise in the refinery’s gantry price. Optima Filling Station also adjusted its petrol price to N1,270 from N1,220 after the same refinery announcement.
Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) retail outlets sell petrol at N1,261 per liter, slightly cheaper than MRS and Optima stations. Other brands like Mobil, NIPCO, Eterna, and Empire Energy charge between N1,270 and N1,330 per liter in Abuja.
The petrol price adjustment comes amid ongoing crude oil volatility caused by the Iran-US-Israel conflict. Brent and West Texas Intermediate crude prices stood at $97.39 and $103.7 per barrel, respectively, as of Tuesday morning.
