He also emphasised the need to improve spending efficiency to ensure that every naira generated delivers maximum value for citizens.
Other areas of focus, he noted, include strengthening debt management and maintaining fiscal sustainability.
Oyedele added that the ministry would work closely with other arms of government to ensure fiscal policies align with monetary, trade and other economic policies.
He said Nigeria must also position itself strategically to navigate global economic challenges and take advantage of emerging opportunities.
“We don’t live in isolation. With global geopolitical developments and economic pressures, the question is how Nigeria can best manage challenges while maximising opportunities both locally and globally,” Oyedele said.
