I Don’t Want More Kids, I Tied My Tubes – Veteran Actress, Shaffy Bello Reveals

Veteran Shaffy Bello has revealed that she made a life-changing decision about her reproductive health more than two decades ago, choosing to permanently stop having children.

The Nollywood actress disclosed that she underwent a medical procedure to tie her fallopian tubes about 26 years ago in order to limit the number of children she would have.

Bello made the revelation while discussing motherhood during a conversation on her YouTube platform, Shaffy Bello TV.

Speaking on the programme, the actress explained that she opted for the procedure despite her former husband’s desire to expand their family. According to her, he had urged her to have another child, but she had already resolved to keep her family size small.

She further explained that the procedure was carried out through her navel, during which doctors tied her fallopian tubes to prevent future pregnancies.

Bello described the process as straightforward, noting that it permanently stopped the release of eggs required for conception.

The actress said she had always been clear about the number of children she wanted and did not feel compelled to have a larger family.

“My ex-husband had to beg for me to have another one. I didn’t want a lot of children. I wanted to stop,” she said.

“They went through my navel, went in there, did what they needed to do, and they tied it up. That was it. They closed my eggs.

“I’ve always said to myself that after tying my tubes, if I get pregnant, I will feel like Mary, it’s a holy child.”
