Ola Aina earned his first-ever Player of the Match award in the Premier League after Nottingham Forest played out a goalless draw against Fulham FC on Sunday at the City Ground.
The Nigerian defender delivered an impressive performance throughout the match. Aina finished the game with the highest number of tackles and duels won, showing strong defensive ability during the encounter.
He also made several important contributions including 10 clearances, five headed clearances, three recoveries and an interception. The full-back nearly scored the winning goal in the second half, but his powerful strike hit the woodwork.
Another Nigerian player, Taiwo Awoniyi, came on as a substitute for Forest. Fulham also featured three Nigerian stars — Alex Iwobi, Calvin Bassey and Samuel Chukwueze — in the match.
