Dele Momodu has predicted that Bola Ahmed Tinubu may struggle to win the 2027 presidential election if Atiku Abubakar forms a joint ticket with a strong southern politician.
Speaking during an interview on Channels Television, Momodu said a North–South political alliance could significantly weaken the ruling All Progressives Congress. He suggested that a partnership between Atiku and either Peter Obi or Rotimi Amaechi would be a strong challenge.
Atiku, Obi, and Amaechi, who ran under different political parties during the 2023 election, are now reportedly working together within the African Democratic Congress. The three politicians are believed to be exploring strategies to challenge President Tinubu in the next presidential race.
Meanwhile, the ADC has announced plans to hold its national convention on April 14, 2026. The party’s ward and state congresses are expected to begin on April 7 as preparations for the convention and future political plans continue.
