An 18-year-old man has been remanded in custody for allegedly sexually assaulting his 10-year-old disabled brother in Ga-Kopa, Tafelkop, Limpopo, South Africa. The case was heard at the Groblersdal Magistrate’s Court and postponed until March 18 for a formal bail application.
The alleged incident occurred on February 26 while the mother was attending a funeral. The younger child reportedly disclosed the assault after showing signs of pain during bathing, prompting the mother to report the matter to local authorities.
The case was transferred to the Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit in Groblersdal. Police arrested the suspect the same day the report was made, and investigations are ongoing.
Provincial Police Commissioner Thembi Hadebe condemned the alleged crime, highlighting the vulnerability of the victim and urging parents and guardians to report such incidents immediately.
