Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has warned Iran’s newly appointed Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, that Israel could target him amid ongoing military operations. Netanyahu acknowledged Tehran’s resilience but stressed that coordinated Israeli and U.S. airstrikes had severely damaged Iran’s Revolutionary Guards and Basij forces.
He vowed to continue strikes against Hezbollah in Lebanon after the group’s March 2 retaliation linked to the killing of Iran’s late supreme leader, Ali Khamenei. Netanyahu emphasized that Israel would not reveal full operational details, signaling further potential actions.
Commenting on leadership targets, Netanyahu stated he would not “issue life insurance policies” for enemy commanders, underscoring the risk for Iran-backed figures including Hezbollah’s deputy leader, Naim Qassem.
The Prime Minister framed the warnings as part of Israel’s broader strategy to counter Iran’s military and proxy threats while maintaining secrecy over specific plans and timelines.
