Residents of Lagos staged a protest on Friday over continued electricity outages, describing the power situation as unreliable and frustrating. Many said the poor supply has made everyday life and business activities extremely difficult across the city.
Videos shared online showed youths marching through the Fadeyi area while carrying placards and chanting for stable electricity. The protesters demanded urgent action from authorities to improve the country’s struggling power sector.
Several of the placards carried messages such as “No More Estimated Billing” and “No More Epileptic Power Supply.” Demonstrators said they were tired of paying for electricity that is rarely available.
Business owners also joined the protest, explaining that they now depend heavily on generators to run their shops. According to them, the rising cost of fuel is forcing many small businesses to shut down due to lack of reliable power.
